2016 Mount Barker Pinot Noir
Sourced from our best parcels of fruit from mature vines in Mount Barker, this is a gorgeous and richly flavoured wine with the silky, textural qualities characteristic of cool climate pinot noir. With it’s softer tannins it can be enjoyed now, but will also definitely reward further bottle maturation. More Details and Tasting Notes...
2016 'Two Steps' Shiraz - 94 POINTS
Our Single Vineyard Shiraz is entirely from our Langton vineyard in Mt Barker. Our best blocks of Shiraz are from some of the earliest plantings in the region which are now around 40 years old; the typically low yielding vines produce fruit with great depth of colour and flavour. 2014 King Billy - SOLD OUT - 96 POINTS
Our King Billy is without a doubt a winemaking indulgence. The winemakers are always ‘playing around’ in the cellar and this wine has come about by us trying to show what the very best Cabernet from our oldest Mt Barker vines can look like.
Very simply. The best 4 barrels from our many batches of Cabernet Sauvignon have been held back, bottled with low intervention and then matured in bottle for 3 ½ years. The extended maturation in bottle rather than in oak is a conscious move to ensure the wine develops complexity but without losing its vibrant fruit character. This wine is still really fresh, with a good deep colour and already belies its age. ‘Seamless’ is a descriptor that describes it well. More Details and Tasting Notes...
