2018 Pinot Grigio

West Cape Howe WinesVintage Description:

An italian varity now growing in WA’s cooler South West, this is a luscious dry wine with the delicious flavours of fresh pear fruit. Enjoy as a young wine with many foods.

Winemaking Information:Our Pinot Grigio is growing in popularity, only limited by the amount of fruit we are growing! Much of the Pinot Grigio is grown here on our Langton vineyard & Karri Oak vineyards in Mt Barker and also plantings out in Frankland. Although it was a cooler season than average with some unseasonal rain, our Pinot Grigio is planted on a sloping, well drained block and came in in good condition at perfect ripeness. Prompt processing at the winery meant there was minimal skin contact so the juice picked up very little colour from the skins which are a light grey in this variety.
Fruit Source:Mount Barker/Frankland
Colour:Very bright and clear with the palest hint of straw color.
Aroma:A fresh and fragrant nose with delicate tropical fruit salad aromas and hints of spice.
Palate:A lovely, fruity dry wine with the distinctive flavours of ripe pear and green plums. Has a luscious palate weight typical of the variety, with a hint of drying astringency contributing to its clean dry finish. A great food wine, enjoy while fresh and vibrant.
Cellar Potential:Best enjoyed while young.
