|Vintage Description: |
Superb as a stand alone variety, our Regional Range Malbec is from our highly regarded Frankland River vineyard in the Great Southern. It is both intense in colour and rich in flavour with good depth of gorgeous mulberry fruit character. A beautiful wine to enjoy now or after further cellaring.
|Winemaking Information:||Sourced from our best vineyards in Frankland. After a brief cold maceration the fruit was fermented steadily to dryness. As Malbec inherently has a good tannin structure, it did not need a period of extended time on skins. After pressing, the wine was aged for 12 months in a combination of some new but mostly older French oak hogsheads. It was given a few months in bottle before being released.|
|Fruit Source:||Frankland River|
|Colour:||Very dense, a magnificent dark purply red.|
|Aroma:||Has beautiful fresh berry fruit aromas and distinctive, rich mulberry characters and hints of black cherry.|
|Palate:||This is a well flavoured, medium bodied wine with the delicious, ripe berry fruit flavours beautifully balanced by the slightly chalky, lightly drying tannins. Has good palate weight and mouth feel with a gently drying finish and good persistence of flavour.|
